Requests from Quebec parents regarding sexuality education for their children

Together to Protect Our Children (EPPNE) is a non-profit organization (NPO) that works to protect the rights of children and their parents. Its goals are supported by thousands of parents and individuals of all cultural and religious backgrounds, as well as diverse sexual orientations. It presents the expectations of parents of students attending Quebec schools:

1- We ask the Minister of Education to respect the right of parents in the moral education of their children as enshrined in the Quebec Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms: Quebec; C-12 – Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms.

C-12 – Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms says: Parents or persons acting on their behalf have the right to ensure the religious and moral education of their children in accordance with their convictions, while respecting the rights and interests of their children.

2- We demand that the teaching of sexuality education courses as currently presented and based almost exclusively on gender identity and sexual orientation be immediately stopped.

3- We ask to be informed about all the teaching and other interventions made with our children at school and that nothing be hidden from us under the pretext of protecting them.

4- We ask that anyone who has a role as teacher, educator or any other role with our children stop telling them that their parents are incompetent and that they must be protected from them.

5- We are Canadian Quebec parents, we have no political agenda, we are not affiliated with any party or any far-right or far-left group, we are neither fascists nor conspiracy theorists, we have come together to protect our children and prepare them to be the parents of tomorrow.

6- We do not feel any hatred, nor do we reject any group in society because every minority has the right to exist and to enjoy citizenship rights, we are against any racial, religious, ethnic, sexual or other discrimination. Every Canadian Quebec citizen has rights defined by law.

In this context, we, members of the association Together to Protect Our Children, parents of students and citizens concerned about the future of Quebec, expect schools to provide children with every opportunity for moral and intellectual development and growth while respecting the values of their family.
